The Theme, Focus, & Growth Spread

There are times in life when we feel 100% sure of ourselves. We know where we’re going, what we’re doing, and what we’re all about. We feel solid in our mission and purposeful in everything we do.

And then there are other times when we feel completely lost. Aimless. Not sure which way we’re headed or what to do next. Maybe we’ve lost a job, gone through a breakup, or experienced another type of devastating loss or change. Or maybe it just feels like our spiritual guidance system has suddenly disappeared and is nowhere to be found.

During these times of confusion, darkness, and feeling stuck, sometimes all we need is a little nudge. Just one clear step to take that can lead us back to a path of certainty.

This is one of the (many) things I love about Tarot. After spending a bit of time with the cards, you can walk away with at least one actionable step to get you back on track and create the full, purposeful, joyful life you’re meant to lead.

The Theme, Focus, & Growth Spread

One of my favorite spreads for times when I need to refocus is this Theme, Focus, and Growth Spread. It’s a great way to check in when you aren’t sure where things are going or where to go next.

Our friend, Tarot reader and astrologer Liz Worth, shared this amazing spread with us. This is a three-card spread that looks at your theme for the year ahead, what it’s time to focus on, and who you are becoming throughout that process.

Liz says: “I found that this spread was able to offer something to reflect on, with some practical, tangible next-steps as takeaways.

Over time, it’s become a go-to spread for me in all kinds of situations. I find that it can be the beginning of a much deeper conversation, too, and can be especially helpful for those who are having trouble finding focus or taking control in their lives.”

Card 1: Theme

The first card looks at your major theme for the year ahead, or another specific timeframe. Consider the energies, patterns, and potential scenarios you’ll be moving through.

Card 2: Focus

The second card offers insight into what you need to do as a next step, what you might be called to do as a result of your theme, or what it’s time to make a priority overall.

Card 3: Growth

The third card ties in the messages from the theme and focus cards to show how these influences or opportunities will help you grow, or what role or mindset you might have to adopt along the way.

Bring them all together and you may just find that deeper understanding you were so desperately craving.
