The Magician – Tarot Card Symbolic Of Your Own Limitless Potential!
The magician card was one that I had ignored for years during the beginning of my studies! I started young with learning the tarot and as an awkward girly girl I naturally gravitated towards the prettier cards like the two of cups, the ace of cups, and The Empress. I loved the connection between the cups and how symbolic they were of emotions and my favorite lovey-dovey feelings!
At the time it was rare that The Magician would fall out for me. It was elusive, mysterious, and in my opinion a little overrated to be chosen as the cover girl face of so many tarot books and decks!
Then as I grew older my life began to seriously shape shift and change. There were the highest of highs and the moments that felt terribly low. At the end of the day I'd make my way to meditation corner feeling emotionally beaten and exhausted reaching for my Rider Waite deck and would begin shuffling at the feet of many candles searching for clarity and direction in my life.
I wanted guidance and answers as to what I could do to make my situation better. It was then that the Magician began to jump out and consistently plague me.
At first I'd pick the card up, sigh, and place him back into the deck feeling done and frustrated with the answer that I had received.
The Magician card falling out didn't promise or confirm to me in that moment that I would get exactly what I wanted so in every case that he showed up it was just proof I would have to wait longer.
But he continued to show up- jumping, falling out of the deck, even so much as getting mysteriously stuck to my slipper as I walked around the house miserable and lamenting.
The Magician began appearing so often – even when I wasn't shuffling the deck- that I knew I needed to look into the card further and what messages this card was trying to tell me at this turning point within my life.
Back to my meditation corner I sat- back again at the base of what sometimes feels like a thousand candles. I asked it directly, “What are you trying to tell me? Speak to me now- I'm listening.”
I noticed first the infinity sign hovering above his head: infinite possibilities, the endless movement of energy, and also everlasting love.
“Do all things through and with love, Jess. For your Self and for others.”
The powers above are working through you- meaning that where you are being guided is no longer solely about you but a higher purpose, whether the topic of your question be about the work you feel called to do or a love that you are ready to share.
The hand held above his head is symbolic of assertion but more than that it works as a channel from God to man.
“Allow the Provider to work through you and move you to this greater calling/direction.”

Your choices and vision are supported by an incredibly benevolent universe/Provider that is reminding you now how very powerful you are when you step into faith, use your God given gifts, and take responsibility and action on creating the life of your dreams. With this card anything becomes possible and you are gifted the chance to see, feel, and own your potential knowing that no matter what lies ahead of you have been given all the tools at birth that you will need to live out your divine and unique life path filled with moments of adventure that include deep love, happiness, and incredible purpose.
This card is the shapeshifter.
“I can be ANY thing. There is nothing that I cannot do or be. It starts with me here. It starts with me now.”
His red robes mirrored and further sparked my own passionate feelings. His white garb underneath were a symbolic reflection of my own pure intention.
I just wanted to be happy. I wanted to do good things, good work, and love and help people.
That moment with The Magician card changed my life. It was the moment I took the symbolism of a simple card that I had long ignored and applied it to fuel the beginning of a life I now lead with purpose and deliberate intention.
In the moments when I ever forget my own personal power, feel weak, or lost along my way this is the first card to jump from my hands and I swell with the knowledge that the potential within me is limitless and my steps have always and always will be guided!
