A ‘Real Life’ Example of the Celtic Cross Tarot Reading

Caitlyn (not her real name, to protect her identity) contacted me for a general Tarot reading, using the Celtic Cross. She asked for me to focus on moving house and improving her finances. Here’s how the Tarot reading transpired…

Dear Caitlyn,

Thank-you for visiting biddytarot.com and requesting a Tarot reading. It is a pleasure to be able to read for you!

You have requested a Celtic Cross Tarot reading in regards to moving home and getting the finances together to do so. I concentrated carefully on your question while shuffling the Tarot cards for you. I then laid the cards out and this is what they told me.

Ok, I can see that right now, this situation is not feeling good. There are a lot of barriers to your success given the number of reversed cards in the reading, and you’re getting a lot of grief internally and externally. Nothing feels like it’s going right at the moment! And I think you’re right, there does seem to be someone who is a little shady and who does not have your best interests at heart. However, I have good news! Actually, no, make that great news! The Empress and the Ten of Pentacles both reflect that you will have a new home very soon, one where you feel truly ‘at home’ and where you can settle in with your family and your baby. So, all the struggle will eventually pay off. Let’s take a deeper look…

The reversed Six of Cups reflects that you are currently feeling out of your comfort zone at the moment and you are feeling the effects of not having a true home to settle in. There are children in this card too, highlighting that you do not feel that this is the best place to be for your child and you would like to be somewhere that is more comfortable and safe. You may also be attached to a place from your past that you really loved, and you often find yourself thinking, if only we were there again. Not particularly helpful!!

What is getting in your way is the constant delay that you’re encountering. It’s like two steps forward, one step back at the moment. Just when you think you’ve made some headway, you get yet another blocker or obstacle in your path. You want to get progress and movement but it just keeps running into more and more brick walls. This is no doubt extremely frustrating!

In your day-to-day life, the wheel of luck or karma is constantly turning for you. There are good times and there are bad times when you feel like luck is totally NOT on your side! What is good, though, is that this Wheel is upright in your reading, which suggests you should soon start to see luck turn in your favour. I feel that there will be a synchronicity of events which will lead to more positive outcomes (as indicated by the Empress and the Ten of Pentacles). It will be as if everything just comes together at the last minute in a way you could have never imagined. Even though there are those frustrating delays getting in the way now, it will soon clear to something much more positive. (Seriously, I’m not just saying this to keep you happy, either!! The Empress and Ten of Pentacles show that the Wheel is turning in your favour when it comes to the home and to being able to nurture your baby!)

Underneath, you are worried about debts and loans. Reversed, the Six of Pentacles suggests that you are in debt to others, probably through a mortgage to a bank, but also in other ways. You mentioned that your husband is dealing with other people to organise the finances and I feel that this is a little more shaky than you would like. You may be just scraping through and relying on other people’s generosity in order to get by at the moment. You may also be worried that you’re in a worse off position financially than you realise. If this is the case, then play it safe and don’t get into a situation where you are in more debt than you can handle.

In the past, the reversed Eight of Pentacles suggests that a few deals around the home and your finances have fallen through because you haven’t checked the small print or the finer details. This is the perfectionist card, and reversed it indicates that you need to be more of a perfectionist when it comes to moving home and getting your finances in order. There may have also been some issues with work and the family income, perhaps due to further education and study costs.

In the near future, the Empress brings such a wonderful energy to this picture! I was very pleased to see this card come up in your reading, particularly now you have your little baby! This is THE mothering card of the Tarot deck and shows that you will find a way to be the best mother possible to your little baby. Of course, you can do this with or without your dream home, but I feel that you will get to an outcome that will help you to provide a nurturing, caring and safe home for your family. You will feel more at ease in this new environment and you will actually enjoy being at home most of the time, which is often the case being a new mum!

The advice of the Nine of Wands reversed is not to give up!! You are so close to the finishing line and while it feels like you are close to defeat, you are also close to success. Often it’s when we feel totally exhausted that we are just about to get to the end. Think about childbirth!! When you’re at your most exhausted, you know it’s a wonderful sign because baby is so close to being born! It’s similar with this situation of moving home. You have endured so many challenges along the way, but this is just making you stronger and you will soon get through this to where you want to be. Just don’t give up!!

Externally, the reversed King of Wands is a sign that you have invested your trust in someone who sold themselves as an expert or guru in the field. However, it is beginning to become clear that they do not have your best interests at heart. Instead, they are acting for their own benefit and the advice they are giving you is only to benefit them. It’s like when you have someone recommending you a product only to find out that they are getting high commissions for what is actually a sub-standard product. Or someone advising you to buy in a particular area, only because they will benefit financially from that sale than a sale anywhere else. So, be careful with self-proclaimed experts at the moment and make sure they really are as knowledgeable as they say they are.

What you worry about most is that this whole situation is going to come to a crashing end. The Tower literally has a tower on fire and that is about to fall down. Reversed, however, you are hopefully that you can avoid impending disaster and something will come through at the last minute. I really do think that it will, especially with the Wheel, Empress and Ten of Pentacles. So, perhaps these worries are no longer necessary. Something will work out!

Finally, the Ten of Pentacles is THE card you want to see for this type of situation. It indicates that you will find a very comfortable home that suits your lifestyle and financial situation. Given it is a Ten, you will find a home where you feel you can stay for a long time. This card also shows a very happy family, so it is a good family home where you can feel safe and secure. I feel that you will also have success financially and will get the funds you need to make this work.

So, all in all, I really do feel that this will work out as you want it to, even though right now, it feels very shaky. You will get to find a place where you can be a great mum, where you can feel comfortable and you can ‘make house’ in the way you want to.
